Pediatric Emergency Care
Salah Foundation Children’s Hospital at Broward Health Medical Center in Fort Lauderdale boasts a Level 1 trauma center for our youngest patients. Children receive the best possible care for traumatic and emergency injuries and illnesses. In addition, children in western Broward County who require emergency care can seek treatment at Salah Foundation Children’s Hospital at Broward Health Coral Springs.
Broward Health offers Level I and Level II trauma centers at Broward Health Medical Center and Broward Health North, enabling the system to care for the most critical patients. Broward Health has met numerous state-mandated requirements to have designated trauma centers, and our trauma physicians treat countless trauma injuries each year.
Broward Health’s four hospitals have emergency departments for acute injuries and illnesses. We also offer urgent care centers for non-life threatening injuries or illnesses. Our emergency and urgent care centers provide countywide access to timely care for concussion, broken bones, flu and other conditions experienced by children and adults.
The Latest Technology
Broward Health is one of the few public healthcare systems in the nation to implement a Barcoded Medication Administration System (BCMA). This advanced BCMA records, tracks and ensures the correct medications are delivered in the prescribed dosage and time, to the right patient. With the use of a simple barcoded wristband, patients can see the system at work and are reassured by the added safety measure. BCMA enables caregivers to work more efficiently and demonstrates Broward Health's commitment to patient safety.
